Four main types of Clinics

Clinics present very convenient solutions in places like rural areas where there is no hospital nearby. Usually costs are lower than in hospitals and other medical facilities. Only in specialist clinics you could challenge some higher costs. So if you don’t want to waste your money and time it is important to know what type of care, service and doctor you need. Your condition and care needs are the main factors while searching for the proper clinic. There are four basic types of clinics and here is some short description that could help you in your search. If there are still some doubts about where you should go feel free to call them and ask for instructions.

Convenient Care Clinic

Convenient Care ClinicSome would call them retail-based. These may be found in supermarkets or pharmacy and their service and treatments are limited. Most of the employees here are nurse practitioners who have general knowledge and training to challenge some large but limited range of issues. For example if you are in need of preventive care, physical exam or vaccination it is possible. Also some testing like measuring blood pressure, HIV, cholesterol and insulin testing can be done as treatments for flu and cold. They come very handily as they are always on your way to the grocery store or just walking through the center of your place.

General Outpatient Clinic

Here you can find specialists from different areas of medical practice. Usually are found in rural areas catering to the local community. This type of clinic doesn’t always offer the same range of services so there is also a difference in payment options, pricing, caring methods and treatment. Their setting is usually determined by the area, needs of community and doctors involved. For sure there is always the option of primary, acute and ongoing care. Most of these clinics take larger health insurance plans as a payment option.

Free Clinic

Include volunteers while offering dental, medical and basic health service. Options offered here are chronic, primary and acute care. These are low-cost facilities while also providing some free of charge care. For developing conditions everybody will be pointed to hospitals, doctors and another type of clinics. The free clinic may be varied depending on provided service type. Some have pharmacies, some dental care service so if in need it is best to call them first and check do they have what you need.

Specialist clinics

Include treatments and care for specific body parts, illnesses and conditions. Because of this specialized nature of the care they are often really expensive. Nurses and doctors that work here are highly trained for their field of practice. These people spent years of their life studying medicine so they could work at these places. So naturally all this effort and knowledge with expertise comes with a price. Some most complex diagnosis are made here, such as infertility clinics, prosthesis clinics or rehabilitation clinics.
